A MUM-OF-TWO has revealed how she sticks to a budget of £100 when doing the weekly shop.
Mercedes explained that she has to watch the pennies when she hits the supermarket, so often goes to a cheaper store like Aldi or Lidl.

And she added that when she queues up to pay, she’s still “praying at the till”, hoping that her monetary calculations were correct.
But in a video on her TikTok page, Mercedes shared her impressive haul from Aldi, which she managed to nab for just 46p over budget.
In the frozen section, she’d picked up two garlic baguettes, some frozen peas and broccoli, chips, burgers and frozen fish, which she said her “kids love”.
She also grabbed some chocolate waffles, a jar of onion and garlic pasta sauce, some sweetcorn, onion and asparagus and a pack of her son’s favourite malted milk biscuits.
Stocking up on snacks, she popped some mini party ring style biscuits in the trolley, as well as some “lunchboxy bits” – mini sausages, sausage rolls, Peperamis and chicken bites.
She also got some little boxes of raisins and chocolate mini rolls for the kids to have in their packed lunches, as well as some sweets for them as a treat.
On the drinks front, she bought two boxes of kids’ smoothies, although noted that they “do make our own as well”.
She also popped some squash, orange juice and a cheeky bottle of wine into the haul.
“Mine and Joel’s weekly bottle of wine, it’s only four pounds something, it’s our little treat,” Mercedes explained.
Butter and a small milk was next, followed by the meats – some mince for the spaghetti bolognaise, some pork and a joint of beef for their Sunday roast dinner.

As well as cupboard staples including peanut butter, gravy, baked beans and crisps.
Mercedes concluded the haul with some toothpaste, make-up wipes, fabric softener and dishwasher tablets.
“My budget was a hundred pounds,” she said.
“I try and stick to a hundred pound a week but often go over.”
“Aldi food shop on £100 budget for a family of four,” Mercedes added in the caption.
“I loveeee doing the food shop and seeing how cheap I can get it!!” one person wrote in the comments.
“It’s like a lil task to myself I love it haha!”
To which Mercedes replied: “I have no choice at the minute.
“I get to the till and pray!!!”
She also said she wishes “Aldi did scan as you go so you could see what you are spending!”
“How long does this usually last you please?” someone else asked.
“This will last us the week however I did have bits left over from last week – fruit etc and pizza, and chicken for 2 meals,” Mercedes replied.
“So will that about a week.”
