NO BRAS, flesh flashing and a very specific pose – all our favourite celebs are doing it, but this new trend has nothing to do with low-cut boob bares.
From Kylie Jenner to Sabrina Carpenter and Emily Ratajkowski, A-listers are embracing a new pose – the ‘backview.’

And it’s no accident. As they step into the top tier of their careers, this subtle yet striking stance is making waves.
They might be hated by us mere mortals for logistical wardrobe reasons, but backless dresses are out in force in Hollywood.
Body language expert Judi James explains that the backview pose is more than just a fashion statement – it’s a power move.
“There’s nothing ‘t*ts and teeth’ about it,” she says. “No exaggerated cleavage or high-slit drama.
“Instead, it mimics the act of walking away or even ignoring the cameras, with an over-the-shoulder glance that adds just a touch of intrigue.”
The bare back, she notes, is an understated yet sensual feature.
“Unlike a plunging neckline or a thigh-high slit, a bare back isn’t typically associated with sexual mimicry. If anything, it’s unisex and shouldn’t have much shock value,” Judi explains.
“But it’s also one of the body’s most sensitive areas, reacting dramatically to touch and temperature.”
When done right, the pose exudes effortless sensuality.
She says: “It’s both teasing and unattainable – the turned back says ‘no,’ but the glance over the shoulder hints at playful flirtation. It’s the ultimate in classy, haughty sensuality – suggestive without being overt.”
For some stars, this pose also serves as a subtle way to signal that they’re off the market.

As Timothée Chalamet’s plus-one, Kylie has been gracing Hollywood’s most exclusive red carpets.
The 27-year-old embraces a style that channels the timeless elegance of old-school movie stars.

Her back-baring pose is carefully curated rather than spontaneous, sculpting the perfect silhouette – highlighting the side of her breast, the curve of her waist and hips, and the cascade of dark fabric pooling at her feet.
With her chin lifted, her hair tumbles down her back, and one hand delicately raised to the mirror, the effect is pure high-class glamour.
This isn’t just a pose; it’s an invitation for the audience to admire her in awe.
Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina takes the backview pose to another level with a dramatic arch of her spine, creating an unmistakable ‘S’ curve.
By pushing her hips back and tossing an over-the-shoulder gaze, she ensures every detail of the pose is relished.
Her dress accentuates the effect – revealing a daring peek of ‘bum cleavage’, framed by silky fabric, a dangling jewel, and feathery trim. It’s bold, playful, and impossible to ignore.
Kim Kardashian

In what feels like a silent response to Bianca Censori’s barely-there red carpet moments, Kim proves that sometimes, subtlety speaks volumes.
A hint of side-boob, the signature S-curve of her lower back, and the glossy, bare skin create the illusion of nudity – despite being fully clothed.
Her over-the-shoulder glance, carefully posed as if an afterthought, adds the perfect contrast to Bianca’s full-frontal, expressionless Grammy look.
Nicole Kidman

With a career stacked with heavyweight roles, Nicole no longer needs to fight for red carpet attention.
Her floor-length black velvet dress exudes top-tier elegance, yet she still knows how to keep things fresh.
The bare-back cut and subtle turn toward the cameras strike the perfect balance – sophisticated yet effortlessly sexy.
Her knowing, flirtatious smile suggests she’s letting us in on a secret, offering just a glimpse of her sensuality rather than flaunting it outright.
Emily Ratajkowski

Emily channels classic Hollywood, evoking Lauren Bacall’s famous on-screen moment – the one where she pauses, glances back over her shoulder, and delivers the legendary line, “You know how to whistle, don’t you?”
Her lifted chin, bare shoulders, and elegantly arched spine mirror that same sultry confidence.
Even her dreamy, heavy-lidded expression feels straight out of the golden age of cinema, making this a masterclass in elite, old-school glamour.
Ariana Grande

Ariana’s pose is all about drama.
With her back fully arched, elbows bent, and hands resting in front of her, she creates a striking, sculptural effect.
Her bare back, and half covered arms, with her hair swept back, and the raised chin gives off an air of quiet defiance.
Unlike the playful flirtation of some of the other stars, Ariana’s pose suggests strength and self-assurance – maximum sensuality with minimal skin reveal.
