EMMERDALE fans have predicted a show legend could return to take down killer John Sugden.
The medic – who is played by actor Oliver Farnworth – made his first appearance in the ITV soap last year.
John has since bonded with half-sister Victoria (Isabelle Hodgins) and gotten engaged to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Recent flashbacks gave viewers an insight into John’s sinister secrets and unstable nature.
He accidentally caused Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) death and then disposed of his body.
John also drugged Chas (Lucy Pargeter), his future mother-in-law, as well as frame Ella Forster (Paula Lane).
With wedding bells ringing for John and Aaron, viewers predicted Aaron’s ex-husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) could return.
Posting on a Facebook page dedicated to Emmerdale, a fan penned: “Aaron and John getting married next month.
“Calling it now this is when Robert comes back.”
Another agreed, writing: “I’ve said this since they got engaged, perfect timing.”
While a third chimed in: “Yup, he can return and stop the wedding!”
In the storyline, Chas decided she will not marry Liam (Jonny McPherson) next month – following recent drama with his ex Ella.

Aaron offered a solution – for him and John, who are already engaged, to take over her original date.

Meanwhile, Robert left in 2019, when he was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison.
He pleaded guilty for murdering rapist Lee Posner who had previously sexually assaulted Victoria.
Robert and John are half-brothers, sharing dad Jack, although the two have yet to appear together.
