INDIE legend John Power looks unrecognisable in recent pictures as he and his band gear up to support Oasis on their upcoming reunion tour.
The frontman, now 56, looks worlds away from his 90s heyday, where he was the leading star of one of Britain’s biggest bands, Cast.

Many Cast fans will remember the band’s performance with Oasis in Knebworth back in 1996.
Now, 29 years later, they’ll be returning to support Liam and Noel Gallagher this August for the hugely anticipated Oasis tour.
John accompanied Liam on the Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Tour last year but admits he didn’t have any idea the band were getting back together at the time.
Discussing the moment he got the call from Liam, he said: “Me and the band were in the dressing room when I got the call and it was something out of the movies.
“Like, the cops are there and the suspect rings up and they put a trace on the call. It was like the bat phone had just gone off. We are just over the moon. It took a while to sink in.”
Cast was made up of John and Peter Wilkinson and they had an early line-up of different guitarists and drummers.
The band split in August 2001 just one month after they released Desert Drought, which sat at No. 45 in the charts.
They then cancelled a planned UK autumn tour due to “internal band circumstances” and eventually went separate ways.
However, they reunited in 2023 and their third album since reforming in 2010 dropped last year, called Love Is The Call.
Cast were one of many acts from the 90s who were in the running to open for Oasis on their tour.

“It would be great to be involved.”
John grew up in Allerton, in Liverpool, and attended Quarry Bank Comprehensive School, which is the same school The Beatles members attended. He also played John Lennon in Bob Eaton’s musical Lennon at the Royal Court Theatre in London.
Back in their 90s heyday, Cast enjoyed hits such as Fine Time and Walkaway, while John was also the bassist and backing vocalist for The La’s, an English rock band from Liverpool between 1983 to 1992.
Former The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft has also been confirmed as a supporting act for the Oasis tour.
