SHE’S a savvy shopper who decided to try her luck with a bundle of vintage bags on eBay.
But when they arrived, Rachel was surprised to find that one of the accessories from the auction site felt a lot heavier than the others.

She explained in a video on her TikTok page, as she wrote: “I had this absolutely stunning sort of like vintage clutch bag and I thought bl**dy hell, this bag’s really really heavy like what the hell is it made of?”
Rachel then opened up the bag to see what was inside – and found a VERY old book hidden away.
“I mean kind of freaked out if I’m being honest…” she said.
In the next video, Rachel shared a closer look at the book, which had “Common Prayer” written on the side of it, and a name inside, but it was so faint that she couldn’t read it.
However, there was a date – 1948.
And when she opened the book, she found a load of “bluey letters” inside – the name given to letters sent by people through the British Forces Post Office (BFPO).
The letters, which were sent in 1964 and “so fragile”, from Kenya, from a lady called Stella to her husband John.
“Just a snapshot into somebody’s life that was literally in this book in in this bag!” Rachel exclaimed.
And in the comments section, she revealed she’s going to try and return the letters to the couple, or their relatives, if she can find them.
“How lovely, what an amazing find!” one person wrote.

“I’d love to find the family and give them back one day!”
“You have to find Stella & John,” another added.

“How amazing would that be?”
“Aww that’s so lovely, what a find!” a third gushed.
“Little piece of someone’s history there.”
“Absolutely crazy,” someone else marvelled.
“Oh wow! I’m invested in this story! I wonder if you can find them,” another commented.
