IT’S a side hustle that more and more people are experimenting with to make a bit of extra cash.
And one couple has revealed how they managed to turn selling dirty socks and worn out shoes online into a lucrative little business.

But things took an unexpected turn when they recognised the name of one of her “subscribers” – and he made a shocking request.
They recalled the awkward situation on the Everything LuAnna podcast, as the husband explained that this “particular client” had subscribed to “receive a pair of very used gym socks” from his wife once a month.
“What makes this weird is that the client in question… it’s our old PE teacher from over 18 years ago!”
And not only did the man sign up for the monthly packages, he also wanted to take things to another level.
“He has offered a pretty substantial amount of money to visit my wife and literally smell her feet while she watches a movie and ignores him,” the man continued.
“All he asks for is an hour or so, her feet to be post-gym and unwashed.”
Despite the unusual request – and the fact that they both recognised the name as being of their former PE teacher – the husband and wife team said they’re “both on board with the idea”.
Calling him “nothing but respectful”, he added that the man is “even happy for me to be in the house, but in another room to ensure her safety”.
However, podcast host Luisa Zissman was unsure about the arrangement, as she said: “Sometimes I think things are a slippery slope…
“And it’s gone from a little bit of socks, to a care package at Christmas, to now he’s in the front room sniffing your wife’s feet!”

“Some strange people out there,” another marvelled.
“Blimey that’s weird – I wouldn’t let him in the house!” a third insisted.
“I need a new car,” someone else said.
“Are y’all telling that my feet can pay for that?”
“Double money for bunions!” another joked.
As someone else wrote: “I might be able to fish out a pair of my gym socks from the washing basket for him, for say, £50!”
