Busy Tesco supermarket urgently closed with shoppers turned away as building is ‘dangerous for customers’

A BUSY Tesco branch has been urgently closed amid reports of a safety issue in the building.

The supermarket store in Bulwell, Nottingham, turned away shoppers this morning and it is believed staff closed the site last night.

Residents in the Bulwell Community Facebook group shared their safety fears.

A photograph was shared of the building that appeared to show a large car park roof panel hanging down.

The car park has also be corned-off.

A staff member told a local reporter from NottinghamLive the branch was close off due to a maintenance issue.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Bulwell Extra store is temporarily closed due to a maintenance issue.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we are working to reopen the store as soon as possible.”

Their nearby Nottingham Top Valley Extra is open as normal.
