TESCO shoppers have been flocking to buy a stylish homeware essential scanning at just £4.50 instead of £45.

The supermarket has slashed the price of a light-up ornamental tree by a whopping £40.50.

Lit-up white artificial tree with many small lights.
Shoppers have been going wild for the homeware piece

A keen shopper spied the item in their local store and was thrilled at the price.

Posting the find to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group Facebook page they said: “After months of following and not getting bargains. I finally hit the Jackpot. Thanks Tesco.

“Bargain Firework tree for £4.50 instead of £45.”

They shared a photo of their newly purchased ornamental tree.

Fellow bargain hunters were quick to comment on the post and make plans to head to their nearest Tesco store to bag one.

One said: “I love that. I need one.”

Another wrote: “Ooooh mutter grumble etc. Ours has put all their prices back up. Well done you.”

A third commented: “Omg I LOVE it I want it I need it. I already have 3 twig trees.

“Just showed my partner he said no more trees if I do he’s moving out, best go Tesco then.”

While a fourth posted: “Omg I would love this! Just what I am looking for.”

“Well done right place right time,” another said.

Others described the tree as “lovely”, “gorgeous” and “beautiful”.

The treet is 6ft tall and is pre-lit, it works when plugged into the mains.

It was originally priced at £45, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy it online as it’s only available in stores.

However do bear in mind that when prices are reduced by this much it’s usually for stores to clear excess stock, so availability will vary from store to store.

It’s always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

You can find your nearest Tesco store using the locator tool on the website.

It always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

There are dozens of similar-looking garden sets listed online but for quite a bit more money.

Amazon is selling a very similar style tree for £45.

Prices can also vary day to day and by what deals are on at the time, plus remember you might pay for delivery if you’re ordering online.

You can compare prices on platforms like Google Shopping.
