A HUGE 1kg bag of Celebrations chocolates is on sale for just £1.99 at a big supermarket.

A bargain hunter tipped off other customers on Hot Deals UK, saying they had found the bag for sale in-store at Farmfoods in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow.

One-kilogram bag of miniature Mars, Snickers, Twix, and Bounty candy.
The bag of Celebrations chocolates was spotted at Farmfoods

The selection contains a mix of miniature chocolates usually found in tubs of Celebrations.

Mars, Snickers, Twix and Bounty are included in the bags.

“1kg choc, Now £1.99 was £6.99 last time I checked!” the savvy shopper wrote.

It’s not clear whether the offer is available in other Farmfoods stores, but it could be worth checking your local store if you have one near you.

Farmfoods has over three hundred shops in the UK, with more than 100 in Scotland.

Other deal scouts commented on the post, with one saying: “I got a bag a couple of weeks back for £3 from my local farm foods, it was predominantly snickers which made me sad & fat…”

Another said: “I’d be all over this if it was Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel and Maltesers… Still a great price.”

The deal works out much cheaper than getting a tub of Celebrations.

For a 550g sharing tub, which is a little over half the amount of chocolate, the cheapest price is £4.49 at Aldi.

You could also get it for £6 at Morrisons, Iceland or Ocado.

It’s an even worse deal if you get the 350g Easter Mix Pouch.

This is selling for £4 at Waitrose or Poundland, and £4.18 at Asda.

Alternatively it’s £5 at Tesco.

You should remember to compare prices to make sure you’re getting a fair bargain.

Websites such as Trolley are useful for this – just enter the product you want, and it will show you all the different prices which are currently available from each retailer.

One thing to note, though, is that you won’t get the full Celebrations range in the 1kg bags sold at Farmfoods.

In each box of Celebrations you should get miniature versions of Bounty, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Maltesers, Mars, Milky Way, Snickers, and Twix.

Recent research by Celebrations revealed the nation’s favourite chocolate in the selection.

The divisive Bounty shockingly was not in last place – instead it was Mars.

Here is the order each chocolate was ranked in…

  1. Maltesers
  2. Galaxy
  3. Galaxy Caramel
  4. Snickers
  5. Bounty
  6. Twix
  7. Milky Way
  8. Mars
