BBC viewers have been left stunned as Silent Witness opened its new series, with Jack Hodgson and Dr Nikki Alexander’s office romance making an appearance at work.
Series 28 of Silent Witness has returned, and it picks up where the last series left off with Jack and Nikki’s romance.

The final scenes of the last series saw the pair get engaged, and it seems their romance has not cooled down since.
Despite working with death everyday and spending most of their time picking over dead bodies, the forensic duo appear more smitten than ever.
Although not all viewers were keen, as some found seeing the pair kiss at work at The Lyell Centre was too much.
Nikki, played by Emilia Fox, and Jack, played by David Caves, have been dating for three series of the crime drama, but their latest scenes have appeared to irk viewers.
Writing on Twitter, one viewer wrote: “First ep back and they are acting like teenagers. Literally magnetised to each other.”
Another added: “Correction: we’re not starting with a MAKE OUT SCENE IN THE OFFICE.”
“Here goes guys .. week 1 of 10 of the rollercoaster that is #SilentWitness. Already the kissing is getting on my nerves,” shared a third.
Another posted: “I’m not dreaming this right? We’re starting this season with office flirting??!!?!??! And a near af make out scene okay.”
Yet not every viewer was against it, as one wrote: “just casually making out in the office, i approve this message!“

Another shared their heated reaction as they wrote: “SOMEONE GET ME ON AN OXYGEN MASK IMMEDIATELY.”
The new series also saw new characters with Maggie Steed taking on Professor Harriet, the new head of The Lyell Centre.
The team also welcomed Kit Brooks, who has come on board as crime analyst Francesca Mills.
The long running BBC crime drama has already been granted a series 29, before this series had even aired.
New episodes of Silent Witness are on BBC One on Monday and Tuesday nights at 9pm.
Previous episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
