SEXY photos are irresistible to both men and women, a study found.

Both genders were seen to have slower decision-making skills when distracted by saucy pics — dubbed a “sexual content induced delay”.

Men and women in the study gave the same answers when rating how erotic photos were, although they had more effect on the males.

A test found significantly more men were distracted by a naked woman than a man — while females were more equally drawn to either sex.

Participants aged between 18 and 31 had to identify as quickly as possible whether two shapes on a computer screen were the same or different, while a “distractor” photo was shown between them.

It was either a neutral image or an erotic one, such as a picture of a couple having sex or a naked man or woman.

When distracted by the sex photo, reaction times were an average 39.4 milliseconds slower compared to a neutral image.

Men were affected twice as badly, taking 53ms longer compared with 26ms for women.

Study author Professor Robert Snowden, of Cardiff University, said: “Sexual stimuli have been shown to automatically attract attention at the cost of processing other things.”

In a 2022 YouGov poll, 51 per cent of men and 15 per cent of women admitted regularly looking at pornography.
