Next year, Saturday Night Live UK will launch on Sky Max and streaming service NOW from the same creative team behind the US fan-favourite.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels, who currently executive produces the US run will also executive produce when the show comes to London next year.

Sky have confirmed that it will follow the exact same format as its American counterpart with a slew of top Brit comedians, celebrities and musicians all expected to be a part of the programme.

They will all be declaring the show’s infamous catchphrase, with a new British twist, when the show debuts in 2026 – “Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!”

Stars such as Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Kim Kardashian have hosted episodes of the programme over the years.

Each episode sees an A-list host deliver an opening comedy monologue before joining in with a whole host of different sketches alongside the regular ensemble cast of the show.

It has also become a prime spot for singers with a musical guest delivering two songs per episode.

Lady Gaga, Tate McRae and Charli XCX have all appeared in recent weeks on the US version.

More details on the show’s UK debut, including cast, hosts, musical guests and premiere date, will be announced in the coming months.

Cecile Frot-Coutaz, the CEO of Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer said of the news: “For over 50 years Saturday Night Live has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels.
