SAS Rogue Heroes star Connor Swindells sheds his clean cut TV persona – to take his dog walkies.

The 28-year-old pulled up in his Land Rover Defender in London recently, a world away from the transport he climbed aboard in the World War II series.

The Land Rover Pink Panther used for desert combat was equipped with a machine gun, smoke canisters and grenades.

Swindells plays SAS founder David Stirling in the hit BBC show about the elite force’s origins and the special ops it carried out behind Nazi lines, first in North Africa and then the lead-up to D-Day.

The second series of the show premiered on New Year’s Day.

Series one of the BBC drama focused on the war and the efforts of the Special Air Service regiment (SAS) in Cairo, Egypt during the Second World War.

Now the action moves from North Africa to Europe.

In the drama, Connor Swindells returned as Lt Col David Stirling and Jack O’Connell plays Major Paddy Mayne.

The new series charts historical events taking place from spring 1943 onwards.

Series one was a great success, amassing an audience of 9.4 million for its very first episode in 2022.
