Released to mark six decades since the creation of Shelby American, the muscle car is one of just two finished in Eruption Green.

The highly sought-after and unique model sees its striking green finish contrasted with Shelby-painted Star White bonnet strips and its brushed silver 20-inch forged aluminium wheels.

Inside, the muscle car comes with exclusive Recaro leather seats, a back-seat delete, and a colour-matched Eruption Green harness bar.

All of these features are accented with serialised 60th anniversary badging, exclusive to the 60 models created in 2022.

The GT500KR’s bonnet is made of carbon fibre, as is its front splitter, rear diffuser and Gurney flap.

By using this lightweight material, the car’s aerodynamic performance is enhanced.

The model comes fitted with an incredibly powerful supercharged 5.2L V8 engine which can pump out more than 900hp.

This model comes powered by a 3.8L Whipple supercharger, a Shelby high-performance coolant reservoir, and a three-inch Borla/Shelby cat-back exhaust-system.

All these components come together to deliver a thrilling driving experience, with potent acceleration and performance.

The muscle car will be put up for sale through Mecum Auctions in Glendale, Arizona, in the US on March 22, alongside a number of other stunning vehicles.

Shelby American announced its intention to resurrect the fabled GT500KR model in December 2021.

Celebrating 60 years of the motor company, a limited run of 180 King of the Road post-title modification packages were planned for domestic markets between 2020 and 2022.

This meant just 60 Shelby GT500s were produced for each model years, with 45 also being made for the international market.

Of these years, the 2022 models were sold out within hours of the announcement and are considered the “most desirable versions” available for sale today.

This comes as a vintage Ferrari from the 1970s is set to go on auction in just a matter of weeks.

With only one owner and less than 6,000 miles on the clock, the 1977 Ferrari 512 BB is set to be snapped up quickly.

The iconic red wide body Italian sports car is one of just 101 right-hand drive versions supplied to the UK.

And this one could be the rarest of them all after being uprated with wider wheels, having engine modifications and reshaped bodywork supplied by Maranello Concessionaires.

The Ferrari will be going on sale on April 9 at 9am.
