DATING younger men has always been a bit of a taboo topic, but as far as Tara Gen is concerned it’s more common than people realise.
Despite being in her fifties, the self-confessed cougar has previously dated men younger than her sons, who are 30 and 24.

Now Tara, who is an ex-Mormon, has shared the five things she wishes younger men knew about dating older women.
Taking to TikTok, Tara shared her first bit of advice: “If you approach an older woman and ask her out and it’s an immediate no, do not feel rejected.”
According to Tara, older women just know very fast if someone is for them or not, so waste no time beating around the bush.
But men should also get used to being rejected, she added, as this will only prove they’re “the natural pursuer.”
Younger men should also know older women are more attuned to their emotions and know when a relationship will work out, Tara said in the viral video.
“It’s actually great for [younger men] because then you can move on to the next,” she said.
And if a man does want to secure a date, it all comes down to confidence, at least for Tara.
But, she urged men to not stick around after being rejected because it’s an instant turn off.
“Why would you want someone who isn’t sure about you?” she said.
After sharing her advice hundreds of men flocked to the comment section of the viral clip.

But another took Tara’s advice in a more positive way and wrote: “Dating older women is so much fun! They’re so chill.”
“I have dated an older woman, I straight up told her I wanted her, and I got her,” another said.
“Getting comfortable with being rejected is advice I wish I had when I was younger,” someone else chimed in.
Tara hasn’t always been so outspoken about her relationships with younger men, and previously confessed she likes to keep flings “on the down low”.
She has even gone so far as to make sure she is not friends with the parents of her romantic partners because of the notable age gap.
But it is not a husband she is after; she simply wants to have fun with her young lovers.
Her admission came after someone commented on a previous video and wrote: “For the young guys, just hit and run. These women are damaged goods.”
But the gran had no time for haters and explained that she’s not looking for love.
In fact, it is the men who keep chasing her.
“Strangely enough, I can’t get rid of them once I’ve dated them they won’t go away,” she said.
Tara explained she can tell if she’s going to hit it off with someone instantly, but they often get the wrong impression and she ends up having to break it off with them.
She confessed that she does not want to waste her time with someone she is not compatible with, unlike the younger men she dates.
She previously told The US Sun she’s making up for lost time, since she was busying raising kids when her peers were dating and having fun.
“I didn’t get to go through the fun 20s,” she said.
“People think cougars run through young men and I don’t. It takes a while to find one that is compatible with me.”
While bored and stuck in the house during the onset of the pandemic, like many others, she dabbled with making TikToks.
“It kinda put me in the MILF category,” she said.
“I noticed people who followed were younger and were in the 20 to 30 age range and was kinda shocked by that.”
