PICKING the perfect baby name isn’t always easy, especially if you want something to help your little one stand out from the crowd without being too bizarre.
But one mum has come under fire after her daughter’s name went viral online.
The unique moniker caught the attention of social media users when it was first shared on Facebook by a cake decorator, but the post soon found it’s way to Reddit where it was slammed as “scary”.
“Scary cake, scarier name,” the post read, alongside a snap of the brightly coloured Cabbage Patch doll cake and the baby’s name, Tro’Phee.
The jokes about the unique name started pouring in online, as one person simply quipped: “catastro’phee.”
A second wrote: “What a horrible thing to name your kid.”
And a third chimed in: “I gasped out loud so bad I hurt myself.”
“I actually like the cake but that name is horrendous. That poor baby girl,” someone else wrote.
But not everyone hated the name, and some even chimed in to show their love for the unique choice.
“Tro’phee is such a cute and unique name,” one person commented on the original Facebook post.
“I mean I hate the spelling and hyphen but I definitely love her name and the cake,” another said.
But the name isn’t the only one to cause a stir online recently as one mum has left people in disbelief after she gave her daughter a name that sounds exactly like a tasty Italian meal.

In the video, the mum, who is called Kayla, revealed she called her bundle of joy Liz Anya.

In the clip, the mum showed her little one in hospital being wrapped in a blanket and a cute lilac hat.
The text over the clip said: “So what are you gonna call her?”
She then showed off the newborn’s name on the hospital info sheet, confirming she was called Liz Anya.
Kayla captioned the throwback video: “Happy almost two years to my baby. Can’t believe she’s a toddler now. Liz Anya Maguire.”
Some people slammed the mum for the name, as one claimed her daughter would be “bullied for life” because of the name pairing.
“This is cruel if true,” she said.
And a second agreed: “I hope this is a joke because oh wow.”
Meanwhile, others loved the unique name and praised the mum for her unique choice.
“I was like ‘oh what an adorable name, what’s wrong with that?’ then I finally understood, lasagne,” wrote one TikTok user.
