ATALANTA want to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin for their title charge.
The Italian giants sent a representative to Merseyside to push for the move and attempt to sign him with a pre-contract arrangement.
Calvert-Lewin’s Goodison deal runs out at the end of this season.
So Atalanta could get him tied up for next term — but even sign him now if the Toffees play ball.
DCL, 27, has Newcastle waiting for him in the summer, when they plan to land him on a free transfer.
But Atalanta — second in Serie A — are an interesting option for Calvert-Lewin.
They are also 13th in the Champions League and likely to play in it again next term.
Newcastle can offer Calvert-Lewin a big payday if he waits.
So Atalanta will have to come up with a lucrative contract AND a transfer fee to win the race right now.
Atalanta have swooped up Everton‘s talent in the past, signing Ben Godfrey from the Toffees last summer.

However, that move hasn’t worked out as planned with Godfrey now back in the Premier League on loan with Ipswich Town.
Calvert-Lewin has struggled to find the back of the net in recent seasons.
