I was stunned when a nurse said ‘ugh’ with disgust at my baby’s name – she’d be worse if she heard my other two

A MUM was left stunned when a nurse failed to hide her disgust after hearing her baby daughter’s name.

Luci explained that she had been in a hospital waiting room ahead of a blood test when the nurse came over and started cooing over her little girl.

After calling her “beautiful” and asking how old she was, the woman then asked what her name was.

And when Luci replied that her daughter was called Monty, the nurse’s reaction stopped her in her tracks.

Pulling a face of disgust as she mimicked the woman’s response to the name in the video on TikTok, Luci added: “I do understand that obviously Monty is like a bit of a different name, but would you not give a poker face?

“I just feel like if somebody told me their child’s name, like actually fully told me their name, I’d would just be like, ‘Oh, that’s beautiful. Lovely. What a different name!'”

But Luci said that instead, the nurse had been “disgusted” by her little girl’s moniker.

However, she admitted she wouldn’t like to see her reaction if she heard the names she’d picked for her other kids.

“God forbid she ever found out I’ve got a daughter called Dusty and my son’s called Wallace!” Luci continued.

“Can you imagine?

“Monty’s actually the most normal out of all of them, I think.”

Despite Luci hitting back at the woman in the video, the comments section of the TikTok was immediately filled with people again criticising her name choice for her daughter.

“Monty, Dusty and Wallace? I feel like you’re having us on. Did you not consider the child’s future?” one raged.

“Some people don’t actually think of the child growing up when they are naming their kids,” another insisted.

To which Luci replied: “Imagine being a mum & being mean on the internet.. what a fantastic role model!”

“Monty? A little girl? Monty is boy dog’s name. Poor kid,” a third sighed.

“I think she’ll be fine huns,” Luci hit back.

However, others were entirely on Luci’s side, with many admitting they’d found themselves in similar situations thanks to their children’s names.

“Last week at library storytime a grandmother laughed at my 2 yr old daughter’s name,” one wrote.

“Unacceptable as she’s a toddler who understands people laughing at her and it was in a big public forum.”

“I hate this,” another agreed.

“I’ve had a few people ask me my child’s name and then they just give a straight face and just go, ‘Oh ok!’

“It’s not even a strange name!”

“I get this all the timeeeee!!” a third admitted.

“I tell them my son’s name & they instantly change their face and go ‘ohhh can you say that again’, then ‘that’s a very strange name..’ – willllldddd!!”

“A midwife asked my son’s name…I said Milo…she said ‘where’s the rest of the tweenies?'” someone else recalled.

“Cheers love!”

With Luci admitting: “When I was pregnant with our other daughter everyone asked if she’d be called Gromit because our son’s called Wallace.”
