A GENDER reveal clip has gone viral after a woman’s mother-in-law attempted to steal the limelight.
A woman named Laylannie and her partner held an exciting party with their family and friends to announce the gender of their unborn child.

For the Western-themed event, the happy couple stood in front of a ‘Boots or Bows’ sign.
And now, the mum-to-be has shared a clip from the intimate event on social media, leaving many open-mouthed.
But whilst the brunette beauty accused her mother-in-law of trying to mess up the event, it seems that people are now saying she is the problem.
Alongside the short clip, Laylannie wrote: “POV: When MIL tried to ruin gender reveal but caught herself and realised she messed up.”
During the video, Laylannie and her partner stood in front of the posh gender reveal sign, which was decorated with pink and blue balloons.
Seconds later, after a countdown from their guests, confetti cannons exploded above them, sending blue confetti into the air.
The couple were overjoyed at the happy news that they were expecting a baby boy and as they smiled and reached toward each other for a hug, Laylannie’s blonde mother-in-law ran towards them.
As the couple hugged, the mother-in-law cheered whilst jumping and clapping her hands.
She attempted to get involved with her son and daughter-in-law’s embrace, but after realising her blunder, soon stepped back to let them share their special moment.
Seconds later, the excited grandmother was seen giving Laylannie a hug, to which Laylannie wrote: “We thought it was funny so we posted this because we had talked about this already.

Trying to justify her mother-in-law’s awkward blunder, Laylannie later added: “This was our very first gender reveal, we were all super excited.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @laylannietavera, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 10.1 million views.
But social media users weren’t quite on board with Laylannie’s claim that her mother-in-law ‘tried to ruin’ the event.
In fact, viewers warned Laylannie to ‘stop normalising unnecessary mother-in-law hate’.
One person said: “She’s excited. Live a little. No one is trying to ruin your “moment”.”
Another added: “No one can ever win. It’s either too excited and ruining it, stealing their spotlight or they don’t care at all or enough. I see an excited happy grandma that did step back and give you your moment.”
God forbid your mother in law is happy for you
A third commented: “Can we stop normalising unnecessary MIL hate? She was genuinely so happy for you both – not trying to “steal your moment”.”
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “She didn’t grow up in a time where you had to get the “perfect video” for social media first. She grew up in a time where you hugged people and lived in the moment. Let that marinate in your head.”
At the same time, another user chimed in: “God forbid your mother in law is happy for you.”
Not only this, but someone else recognised: “Nah cause she seems genuinely excited and she realised she messed up can we not put her on blast.”
To this, Laylannie replied: “Yes she instantly felt bad.”
