TikTok users Alex and Rachel shared an insight into their age gap relationship

In a viral TikTok video, Rachel (@alex.michael13) told their followers that their age gap “doesn’t define” their relationship.

She revealed that she began menopause at the age of 46, shortly after meeting then 23-year-old Alex.

They met via an online dating site after Alex decided to increase his age range to meet older women.

The couple have been together for four years and describe each other as their “twin flame” and “soul mate.”

However, they explained that “some people don’t understand our relationship.”

Despite the judgement they receive, Alex and Rachel said they are allowing themselves to be happy.

“We were meant to do life together, we were meant to meet, we were meant to love each other,” Rachel said.

The TikToker has a son who is just three years younger than Alex from a previous relationship.

She joked that she was just a “mum minding my own business” when her “much younger” boyfriend came into her life.

Rachel, who completed her PhD since meeting Alex, jokingly refers to herself as a “cougar.”

They said their relationship is just like any other, saying it “requires time and effort.”

Alex advised his followers to consider pursing a relationship with an older woman.

However, not everyone has been so accepting of the couple since they began dating.

They revealed that people often mistake them for mother and son when they’re out in public.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the relationship in the comments section.

“You look like her son, like facially y’all look alike,” wrote one follower.

“I thought she was your mum,” agreed another viewer.

“Your mum is hot,” joked a third commenter.

“Am I the only one that thinks they look related?” asked another TikTok user.

“It’s like mother and son, they look alike, she looks older,” said one viewer.
