The retailer has brought these buns new in for the approaching season.

The website describes them as “Fluffy, lemony M&S hot cross buns with an oozy, zingy lemon curd filling.”

The delicious-sounding description adds: “Prepared to our exclusive recipe for an egg-stra special seasonal treat.”

The website’s images show the tasty treats, displaying the traditional hot cross bun with a rich, yellow lemony filling.

Foodies on social media have already been left with a hungry stomach as they share their excitement for the new flavour.

One Facebook account posted a closer look at the lemon-curd snacks on Wednesday, with a caption that reads: “Closer look at the Lemon Filled Hot Cross Buns from M&S, which we popped in an air fryer for 5 minutes and this made the lemon curd filling become more runny.”

One comment said: “We are off to find these tomorrow!

Another shopper wrote: “These look amazing.”

And a third added: “I put clotted cream on top and drizzled more lemon curd over mine!!! Incredible!”

Those who are desperate to get their hands on this new flavoursome four-pack of hot cross buns are advised to act fast.

They are now exclusively available at M&S stores, where prices will vary depending on location.

Shoppers are also cautioned to read the product label before purchase, as the store’s snacks are constantly being redeveloped.

VALENTINE’S DAY TREAT

The lemon-curd hot cross buns aren’t the only treats available at M&S right now.

After a major glow up, the Colin the Caterpillar cake has landed at shops with a girlfriend, Connie, in tow.

The scrumptiously sweet Colin is a limited edition treat, ready for the big celebration of love on February 14.

On their website, the retail giant says: “Colin is playing Cupid this Valentine’s.

“Our limited-edition half-size Colin is our iconic, chocolate-filled chocolate sponge roll, complete with milk chocolate and decorated with chocolate cupid’s wings.”

Colin is decorated with white chocolate cupid wings, a red chocolate drizzle and red heart sugar sprinkles.

While girlfriend Connie dons pink cupid wings to match her trademark pink bow, with a white chocolate drizzle and pink heart sugar sprinkles.

The cakes are retailing at £7.50 each as the romantic day nears.

Viewers in the comments fell head over heels for the sweet pair.

“Omg they’re adorable,” one user replied.

“Aww,” somebody else cooed.

Another person dubbed them: “The cutest.”

And someone else agreed, saying: “So cute.”

The supermarket chain are offering Colin and Connie the Caterpillar mini cake rolls too.
