A MAN has been charged with dangerous driving after a hit-and-run incident in which two New Year’s Eve revellers were injured.

The driver failed to stop and made off along Primrose Hill Road where a second pedestrian was struck.

Police confirmed a 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

The second pedestrian, a 59-year-old man, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life changing.

A man was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Daniel Sterling, 40, of Camden, has now been charged with multiple offences.

They included dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to provide a drug test.

He was also charged with assault by beating, possession of a knife in a public place and a racially aggravated public order offence.

Sterling was remanded to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Video footage captured at the scene shows panicked crowds running from Primrose Hill as the incident unfolded.

Screams and shouts can be heard echoing in the background.

Officers already deployed as part of New Year’s Eve policing operations responded quickly to the situation.
