LUKE LITTLER gave a controversial answer when asked what is more difficult out of a nine-darter and a 147.

The teen has conquered the darts world after beating Michael van Gerwen in the World Darts Championship final.

Luke Littler of England celebrates winning the World Darts Championship.
Luke Littler gave his verdict on the 147/nine-darter question

There were just two nine-darters hit across 94 matches in the tournament, although The Nuke failed to hit one.

He came close multiple times including in the very first round, which perhaps explains his answer to the 147/nine-darter dilemma.

Asked which is harder to pull off, Littler replied: “I think it has to be a 147.

“I don’t know the rules of snooker. I think you pot a red ball and you pot a coloured ball and go over and over again, but it’s really hard.

“I’d say a 147 is a lot harder.”

Littler has hit five darters in his first year on the Pro Tour and he is now No2 in the world after his remarkable achievement.

But he refused to admit he is now the best player in the world, saying: “I won’t tell. I won’t say.

“Maybe stats-wise I might be the best. But I will never say it.”

As well as being crowned world champ, Littler clinched the Ballon d’Art for most 180s thrown at Ally Pally.

He hit a staggering 76 across his six matches.

That’s 20 more than Van Gerwen in second and 33 more than third-placed Callan Rydz.
