I live full-time in a lorry & have all the comforts of a home, from king size bed & 43-inch TV – it’s cheaper than rent

BUYING a house can be expensive these days, so many people are looking to think outside the box.

One adventurous man shared how he lives full-time in a lorry and insists it has all the comforts you’d expect of a house.

On his @tillyrvadventure account, he shared: “What is it actually like living in a 7.5t lorry?

“For me it’s the perfect lifestyle and it is the most at home I have ever felt.

“I have all the creature comforts I would in a house.”

The man shared how, contrary to what people may perceive, he has heating and hot water.

His lorry is also decked out with a king-size bed, dining area, a 43in TV and Wi-Fi.

Not only that, but he also has a fridge in the kitchen, a shower and bunk beds.

To make it even more like a luxury home, he also has underfloor heating and lighting that is controlled by Alexa.

He also revealed how his biggest expense is fuel, which can cost £1.42 per litre, and he often tops up by 96 litres.

While it may be “expensive”, he said it is “drastically lower” than his previous rent or mortgage.

He added: “Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all smooth sailing and things do break, but I factor this into my cost of living.”

The man insisted that the benefits outweigh any negatives of living in a lorry and he loves to wake up to incredible views from his window.

He also loves how he can go on “regular adventures” in the comfort of his “own home.”

In order to fund his lorry lifestyle, he works as a firefighter and does four days on and four days off.

Many people were impressed with the lifestyle, with one saying: “Living the dream and as free as you possibly can be! winning in life mate.

“Thanks for sharing your home and haven, it’s mint.”

If you are looking to have your own lorry home, the cheapest way is to buy a base truck for between £5,000 to £30,000, and then convert it yourself.

However, this can cost between £10,000 and £50,000, depending on what you can do yourself.

Alternatively, you can buy a converted lorry for upwards of £50,000 to  £100,000, which can be more expensive.

Your lorry must be “road legal” and be converted to meet DVLA “motor caravan” standards, including having seats, a sleeping area, a kitchen, and storage to qualify.
