A NEW renaissance themed rollercoaster is opening at the biggest indoor amusement park in Europe this week, with top speeds of 43mph.

Poland’s Mandoria is built in Ptak Outlet Shopping Centre just outside the city of Łódź.

First announced back in 2023, Aquila will be the fourth rollercoaster at the Polish theme park.

Launching on January 19, the brand-new family coaster will reach a top speed of 70 km/h (43mph) along its 445m route.

When it opens, the ride will be both the fastest and tallest rollercoaster at the theme park.

A newly-released image shows the ride’s train, which has an eagle at the front with its head bowed.

The train has been decorated to look like a wooden cart, something that wouldn’t go amiss in the Renaissance period.

Park-goers taller than 95cm will be able to ride the brand-new roller coaster when it opens later this month.

In a statement, vice president of Mandoria, Daniel Zieliński, said: “Mandoria will continue to captivate with the atmosphere of a 16th-century trade city, where every attraction is carefully matched to the setting.

“Thanks to the construction of the impressive 25-meter tower, Aquila – our fourth roller coaster – will become the most extreme attraction in Mandoria’s history.

“This groundbreaking project introduces a completely new dimension of entertainment.

“The entire rollercoaster track is hidden within a building, ensuring year-round accessibility”.

Mandoria first opened back in 2021 and has over 30 rides and attractions, including a small water ride, two other family-friendly rides and another rollercoaster.

For adrenaline junkies, the theme park’s fastest rollercoaster is called Carrara.

The theme park is also home to the largest wooden playground in Poland called the Old Fort.

Another ride is the huge spinning Galleon ship, which overlooks an indoor harbour inside the theme park.

Other attractions include a mirror maze, dodgems, and plenty of different carousel rides.

Tickets cost PLN 129.00 (£25.44), while tickets for two adults and two children cost PLN 500 (£98.61).

The indoor theme park is a 20-minute drive from Łódź, and it’s an hour’s drive from Warsaw.

Poland is also home to another huge theme park in Europe.

Set in Zator in Southern Poland, Energylandia is thought to be one of the largest amusement parks in Europe.

Energylandia first opened its doors in 2014 and is now home to more than 123 rides and attractions, which sit across six different zones.

At the end of last year, Alton Towers announced it would be closing its oldest ride permanently.

Meanwhile, here’s an exciting new look at the nearly-completed Epic Universe, which will open later this year.
