Debuting on ITV1 in 2020, the spin-off of The Chase instantly became a hit with fans.

But after disappearing from screens, the show has been renewed for a seventh series.

The news comes after the sixth series was kept on the shelf for two whole years.

It was finally aired in January with host Bradley Walsh at the helm as well as the six chasers.

Beat the Chasers sees players have to answer a number of multiple choice questions to build up their cash-pot and eventually take on the group.

Each Chaser will then offer time and money depending on the contestant’s ability.

Their choice results in a nail-biting head-to-head race against the clock.

Meanwhile, last year ITV faced backlash from viewers after airing a repeated episode of Beat the Chasers following a contestant’s death.

Back in 2021, Robyn Free appeared on the show and won an incredible £40,000 but died shortly afterwards from cancer.

She was later left upset when she learnt that host Bradley Walsh had accused her of ‘scamming’ the show when she leapt up after her win.

In upsetting scenes, which first aired four years ago, Bradley looked on in pretend shock as she walked off stage after struggling at the start.

Then, turning to the empty chair he said, jokingly: “She completely scammed us all.”

Robyn passed away in May 2022 after deciding to forego treatment and chemotherapy on her lungs.
