YOU’RE enjoying a lovely dinner at a gorgeous restaurant abroad and the waiter has just arrived with a bill.
This is arguably one of the worst parts about a holiday – trying to figure out whether the meal was a bargain or you’ve been overcharged.

But what if there was an easier way to see what the costs are in GBP? And there was no need to go on Google and do the maths yourself?
Well, according to tech-savvy iPhone users, there is a hidden button on the phone‘s Calculator app that does all the work for you – and it’s bound to save you loads of time whenever you’re soaking up the sun abroad.
Sharing the game-changer of a hack, one woman, Mia Khan, took to TikTok where she explained what iPhone users should do next time they’re jetting off on a holiday.
”We’re on Thailand and our bill’s just come. And whilst we’ve been here, I’ve been using this calculator hack and I feel like knows about it.”
According to the brunette beauty, there should be a special button on the bottom left corner which has a mini calculator design.
Once you press on it, four options pop up – Basic, Scientific, Maths Notes, as well as Convert.
After clicking on Convert, tap on the two arrows facing the opposite way and choose the units or currencies you want to convert from and to.
”Obviously, I am in Thailand, so I choose Baht – but you can choose any.”
In her video, Mia revealed that the total costs of her meal came to just above ฿1,264 – and thanks to the simple trick, she was able to see that this was £38.80.
”It’s literally the most handy thing ever because you can just convert it like that – it’s great,” she was raving about the trick in the clip.

Close to a whopping 1,600 social media users flooded to comments, where many thanked her for sharing the handy information.
One couldn’t believe just how easy converting currencies was, writing: ”After ALL this time this is how I find out?”
Someone else chimed in: ”Girl you have saved lives.”
”Used this when in Milan, it was off by pennies but still so useful!” a third chimed in.
”This is a game changer!! Thank you!!” a fourth commented.
Some social media users noted that their iPhone Calculator didn’t have the special button – however, after others advised them to update their device, it appeared.
As reported by CNET, when Apple released iOS 18 in September last year, that update brought a lot of new features to your iPhone, like the ability to customize your home screen and hide and lock certain apps.
That update also added a conversion function to your Calculator app.
