He has a fantastic record at Gosforth Park with four wins and a second from his sevens around there. Three of those victories came over this distance and he almost made it four last time when going down in a tight finish. Mark Usher’s four-year-old returns quickly with Paul Mulrennan taking over from an amateur rider. He’ll be up with the pace again and can get his head back in front.

He has done the business nicely on his past two visits here. Both wins were by tight margins but there was lots left in the tank. He is only slowly creeping up the weights and has another win in him off this handicap mark.
