HOMES Under The Hammer star Dion Dublin was left gobsmacked as one property buy on the show was left in chaos after the owners were left calling the police and the BOMB squad.

Derby-based couple Lee and Laura were left telling the footballer-turned-TV host all about the nightmare they had endured on their brand new property.

As well as the bomb squad, the Police were forced to visit the scene

Having purchased the plot at auction for £60,000 with plans to build a four-bed home – they were quickly halted as huge discoveries thwarted further plans.

Lee runs his own building company and quickly set about making plans to lay the foundations for the site but was left rocked to the core at discovering a hand grenade buried on the back bushes of the plot.

Stood in the garden, Lee told Dion about the discovery, recalling: “We found a bomb, didn’t we?”

Dion’s jaw then dropped as he said in response: “Hold on, what?”

The star could not believe what he was hearing as Lee shared the sensational bombshell piece of information.

Admitting that the entire street was evacuated as a result of the scary discovery, Lee said: “There was a 20-ft hedge along this fence, about six ft deep, and when the lads were digging it out, they came across a hand grenade.

“We had to call the police, and the bomb squad came down. They evacuated all the houses down here.”

As Dion was left taken aback by the shock bomb confession, Laura and Lee went on to reveal that the property was perfect aside from the minor interruptance.

The couple planned to spend £170,000 on a three-level home which they could use as a rental property to provide them with extra income.

Upon completion, local estate agents predicted that it could command around £1,200 in rent per calendar month or be sold on for a huge £325,000.
