A FORMER World Snooker Champion has been accused of sexually abusing children and suspended just days before the Crucible.
Graeme Dott, 47, who won the iconic Sheffield competition in 2006, is facing two historical charges against a boy and a girl.
The children were aged around 10 at the time of the alleged incidents.
Court papers allege that the Scot attacked the girl between 1993 and 1996 in the Glasgow area.
Prosecutors claim he “exposed his penis before assaulting the child”.
In a second charge against a boy it is claimed Dott stripped naked and got into a shower as the youngster was bathing.
He is also alleged to have sexually assaulted the boy between 2006 and 2010.
Dott will not be competing in this year’s snooker event after he was suspended by the WPBSA.
A WPBSA statement read: “Graeme Dott has been suspended by the WPBSA due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland.
“Whilst court proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for the WPBSA to make any further comment.”
Dott’s sole World Championship title came 12 years after he turned professional.
The Rangers fan also made two other finals in 2004 and 2010.
The first of those saw him lose to Ronnie O’Sullivan.
And in 2010, Dott was defeated by Neil Robertson.
But in 2006, he won 18-14 over Peter Ebdon banking a £200,000 jackpot.
