A THREE-year-old girl fatally shot her baby sister in the head after finding a loaded gun in her home.
The girl’s dad has been arrested and charged with murder after his daughter shot the one-year-old with his gun.
The fatal shooting happened back in February after Michael Tejeda, 25, allegedly left the gun lying around in his home in Wichita, Kansas.
In a call to the emergency services Tejeda told the cops his three-year-old daughter had shot her younger sister.
The 911 operator recalled hearing the dad ask the three-year-old “why she did that”.
Wichita Police Department responded to the call.
Upon arrival, Sargent Keply said he saw the baby being carried out of the home by a firefighter.
The one-year-old was taken to Wesley Medical Centre where she was pronounced dead.
Tejeda had been looking after the girls while their mum was out.
Tejeda told the cops he had fallen asleep while watching TV at around 6pm.
He reportedly woke up two hours later and realised he had fallen asleep with his handgun in its holster.
He removed it and placed it on the fireplace, before going to his bedroom to get changed.

The dad-of-two then went into the living room where he found his baby girl lying on the sofa, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Tejeda has now been charged with first-degree murder as well as two counts of aggravated child endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
The girls’ mum arrived after the fatal shooting and was taken to the police department where she was questioned.
She claimed that Tejeda had called her on Face Time to tell her the tragic news.
