DEAR DEIDRE: I FEEL uncomfortable talking with my boyfriend about our sex life.

We’re both 23, and have been together over a year.

He gets so annoyed that I won’t talk about it but I don’t see his problem.

I enjoy sex and have told him that but I don’t see the need to chew it over the whole time.

He likes to talk about what we are doing during sex and discuss it later.

I was raped four years ago, which he knows, so why won’t he accept it or understand that there are some things I struggle with?

Am I being unreasonable or is he being pushy?

DEIDRE SAYS: He is being pushy. It’s not surprising you’re not comfortable talking about sex.

It would help you to deal with the rape if you saw a therapist.

Tell your boyfriend he needs to be patient.

My support pack, Have You Been Raped?, explains where you can get advice.

Ask your boyfriend to read it also so he can appreciate what you are dealing with.
