EMMERDALE fans have been left gobsmacked after discovering one of the soap’s stars has a chart-topping pop sensation for a daughter.
Fans of the ITV soap are just discovering Georgia Sharma star Trudie Goodwin has a famous pop star daughter.
Trudie, who first appeared in Emmerdale in 2011 as the matriarch of the Sharma family, is the mum of none other than La Roux singer Elly Jackson.
Music lovers will remember Elly as the voice behind the smash hits In For The Kill and Bulletproof, which stormed the charts in 2009.
Their eponymous debut album sold over 2 million copies globally.
But in 2012, Ben quit the band, leaving Elly to fly the La Roux flag solo, using the name as her stage moniker.
She dropped her second album, Trouble In Paradise, in 2014, followed by Supervision in 2020.
The revelation has stunned soap fans, with many admitting they had no idea about the surprising family link!
Taking to an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one fan wrote: “Genuinely didn’t know that!”
Another added: “Same here, I remember their songs from years ago.”
A third penned: “You learn something new every day!”
Meanwhile, after a four-year run on the show, Georgia Sharma bid farewell to Emmerdale in 2015 when she embarked on a cruise and Trudie left the show.
