FORMER EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison begged her fans to ‘keep asking’ bosses to hire her.

Cheryl, 59, was dramatically axed from EastEnders when her character was killed off.

Since then, the former Celebrity Big Brother star has been open about her personal struggles and her money woes.

Now her fans have started a campaign to get her a role in the rival ITV soap, Coronation Street.

Another social media account on X – formerly known as Twitter – posted a screenshot of Cheryl interacting with one of her fans.

In the image, a follower wrote in the comments section of one of the platforms.

They wrote: “Omg Corie!!”, implying that she should be given a new role on the apparently struggling serial drama.

The actress replied: “Keep asking them please it’s just up the road that would be fantastic.”

In the post on X, the user who posted the screenshot sarcastically wrote: “Obsessed with the fergison wanting a job at corrie because it’s “just up the road.”

Cheryl previously revealed her behind the scenes battle to get more acting work in a candid post on her account on X.

The TV personality revealed: “I’ve been out of EastEnders for around 13 years.

“I’ve done jobs in between, I was in panto this year, but jobs aren’t continuous. It’s not kind of like being in a soap all the time.

“Unless you’re like George Clooney or an A-Lister American star that gets millions for their films, it’s very difficult to be, in inverted commas, rich.

“You just kind of keep by, you keep the roof over your head and that’s about it.”

She added: “Some people don’t understand that like everyone else, we have bills to pay, rent to pay, we have to keep everything ticking. We have to get other jobs.”

The actress even resorted to flogging her old scripts for £50 a pop in order to make ends meet.

Cheryl never chose to leave EastEnders as the decision was made by BBC executives.

At the time, Heather was bludgeoned to death by a troublemaking Ben Mitchell (played by Joshua Pascoe) in 2012.

At the time, a source told The Sun: “Heather’s character has been hugely popular over the years, but the decision has been taken to cut her out of the show before viewers tire of her.”
