Jordon Cox, known as the Coupon Kid, revealed his trick on his Instagram page (couponkiduk), where he has 232,000 followers.

His latest tip can help shoppers find dupes of their favourite designer styles that won’t break the bank.

In the video, the money expert showed how he used the Google Lens button while out shopping.

People actually tend to use it mainly to translate languages and identify plant species, but Jordon showed how he used it to save money while shopping.

He searches for designer items he likes to find alternatives that are hundreds of pounds cheaper.

Using the search engine you snap a pic of the item and it searches the web for similar looking products.

He said: “If you’re looking through designer brands, and see a style you like, use the Google app to search the web for it.

“It’ll come back with the same or similar looking items, that may actually be cheaper elsewhere!

“A Tommy Hilfiger shirt I liked worth £100, had a doppelgänger at H&M for £20… much better value!

“I’m fully aware quality of items may be very different, but if you’re not worried about that, and just like the style of something – this is a great way to save money!”

As well as the checked Tommy Hilfiger shirt, Jordan also found a pair of boots for £23 at Boohoo that were similar to a John Lewis pair costing £200.

Jordan’s trick is a great way to check prices and make sure you’re not overpaying for items.

Simply download the Google app, point your phone camera at the product and the search engine will bring up similar items listed on Google Shopping.

To use the feature all you need to do is download the Google Chrome app from your phone’s app store.

Open up a new tab and along the search bar will be a camera icon.

Simply click on the icon and snap a photo of whatever you’re looking at – then the search engine will track down similar items.

You can also upload photos and screenshots and let Google work it’s magic.

From there you can see how much something might be selling for on sites.

You can also search for items on the Google Shopping app or use websites such as trolley.co.uk to find deals.
