Jacob was telling you everything you wanted to hear, all while cheating with someone else – who just happened to be your friend.

Jacob seems very comfortable with lying. He promised monogamy but messed around. And there is little sign that he regrets his behaviour, so trying to rebuild the trust will be very risky.

If you really want to give him another chance, make sure he genuinely understands the hurt he has caused and is serious about making amends.
