A BRAND new series of Death in Paradise is set to hit screens in just days with Don Gilet stepping into the leading role after making his debut in the programme’s Christmas special.
Don will portray DI Mervin Wilson as he gets to work solving various crimes on the island of Saint Marie.
As the new series kicks off, the DI will be rocked by a shocking death on the Island that prevents his planned return to the UK.
DI Wilson had made arrangements to fly back home following the death of his mother but soon finds himself hard at work.
He is forced to investigate a death of someone extremely close to the Saint Marie police department that leaves all of the officers reeling, according to RadioTimes.
However, could it prove pivotal in turning things around for the DI?
Elsewhere, fans will be delighted to see a familiar face back on the island.
Actor Tobi Bakare who played the role of JP between series four and ten will be back for a guest stint.
His time on the show will see him playing opposite a brand new officer in Saint Marie, Benjamin Brice, played by Bad Education star Anthony J Abraham.
But just what will be in store for the pair?
Relationship woes will also be in the air in Saint Marie for Naomi when she crosses paths with a former flame.
Fans will see her battle with her emotions after being left at a “crossroads” of what to do next.
