ACTOR Danny Dyer has revealed he keeps a metal cosh to protect against intruders — but could land in trouble with the law.

The EastEnders star, 47, has gifted a similar one to daughter Dani’s fiancé, England and West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen, 28.

On podcast Live and Let Dyers, Danny said: “Shout out to you burglars out there because by the time this airs I’ll be back (from Dubai).

“And I’ve got a naughty dog called Debbie, I’m belled up to f***.

“Don’t try and sniff round my gaff when this is out, because I’ll be waiting for you with a cosh — my favourite weapon of choice when I’m in my house.”

Co-host Dani, 28, explained her dad had given one to her and Jarrod, adding: “He has it next to him.”

Danny clarified: “No, I’ve got another one. I did give one to Jarrod, a spring cosh.

“It was one of my early presents to him because he’s very protective of you.

“So he’s got the one with a spring on it. My one’s pure metal. It’s almost like a police baton. It’s a good tool.”

Possessing an extendable baton was outlawed by the Offensive Weapons Act 2019.

It is not clear if Danny’s or that given to Jarrod fit that description.

A lawyer said: “This is not a wise thing to admit so freely.

“If someone’s first act when an intruder broke in was to attack them with a cosh, and not ask them to leave, the prosecution would be within their rights to say it was not a reasonable response.”

Dyer’s representative was asked to comment.
