CORONATION Street fans have called out a massive blunder as Jenny Connor’s storyline has been totally changed.
Sally Ann Matthews, 54, first appeared on the long-running ITV serial drama as a child back in 1986.

After a departure in the 90s, the character made a dramatic return to the soap in 2015.
Despite apparent friction behind-the-scenes, Jenny has remained as a mainstay on Coronation Street for a decade.
Whilst she was off screen, Jenny was supposed to marry a man called Gregory Midgeley, where they had a son called Tom together.
He tragically drowned in a paddling pool when he was just four-years-old.
This after Jenny left him unattended when she went to get money from her bag in order to buy ice-cream.
When Tom’s death has been previously described, Jenny was supposed to be on her own when Tom died.
However, this week Jenny blamed his death on Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) as she claimed he was left in her care when she was just 16-years-old.
This was after Bertie almost drowned in a hot tub after Jenny was distracted on the street in scenes reminiscent on her tragic backstory.
But fans think the new revelation does not make any sense as they claim that it was previously established that Daisy could not have been involved.
On fan forum social media site Reddit, one use noticed the huge inconsistency in Jenny’s backstory.

“Now I know Daisy didn’t exist in 2015, but this changes quite a lot?”
Other viewers flooded the post in their droves as they expressed their confusion over the new scripts.
One superfan remembered the storyline when Jenny kidnapped Jack Webster and how Tom’s death was spoken about by the police.
They said: “When it was mentioned then [in 2016], the police said (to Kevin & Sophie) that he died because Jenny left him completely unattended. It was all related to her and now suddenly she’s blaming it all on Daisy? It makes no sense.”
“Even on Daisy’s side it doesn’t make sense if she had been in the garden then wouldn’t she have blamed her self or conclude Jenny blamed her especially given they didn’t speak for years after,” noted a third.
As a fourth added: “Yes defo. Jenny hadn’t mentioned a stepdaughter until very shortly before Daisy arrived.”

Coronation Street continues on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
