DOUBLE denim has become a uniform for fashion-lovers in recent years, and for 2025, it’s bigger than ever.

From catwalk designers Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and Coach to the high street and supermarket brands, it’s hard to avoid.

The trend goes beyond a denim jacket and jeans making it more versatile and wearable for everyone.

From tailored shirts to A-line midi skirts, the Fabulous fashion team share how they elevate their jean looks with their favourite high-street buys.

Double denim is my go-to and while I usually opt for an oversized jacket, this season I’m craving a neater, more-fitted silhouette.

I blame Acne Studios, Isabel Marant and Ganni for the new streamlined fit ’ n’ flare shapes that are all over my Instagram feed.

The nipped-in waist of this & Other Stories denim jacket feels so current when teamed with barrel or horseshoe dark denim jeans.

I have added suede and animal print for an urban cowgirl look that I can’t wait to wear to work.

Dark denim is my new go-to wash – everything about it makes it feel more expensive, so why not wear it head to toe?

This co-ord from Albaray is right up my street, with both pieces being versatile enough to wear on their own with pretty much all of my wardrobe.

I’ve added some long suede boots from Zara with a small heel so they’re still comfortable, a burgundy bag and some gold earrings for a stylish yet timeless look.

You could also wear the jacket unbuttoned with a T-shirt underneath and swap the boots for ballet flats when spring finally arrives.

This co-ord has everything I love – padded shoulders, a fitted, but not tight, silhouette and wide-leg trousers – oh, and I adore dark denim.

Darker denim is always a safe bet when it comes to wearing the “Canadian tuxedo” as it stops you looking like you’ve dressed up as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake with that iconic double-denim look – plus it’s slimming.

The whole outfit feels smart and polished with zero effort, plus the ironed-in crease down the centre of the jeans gives them a tailored feel, which means it’s perfect for work

I wouldn’t tend to wear this shirt tucked in, but on the few occasions that I might, it’s a good idea to break up the dense dark colour with a studded belt, like this Massimo Dutti one, that’s a double for the viral Khaite belt for £520.

Throw on an oversized, tailored coat to follow the clean lines in the denim and pair with neat heels and a big tote bag, like this one from Mint Velvet, and you’re ready to face the day.

I love a double-denim look, especially when it comes as a matching set, like this one from New Look.

It makes getting dressed in the morning so easy, and a sleek co-ord like this is incredibly versatile for any occasion.

Here, I’ve styled it with a classic white shirt and loafers for a polished, office-ready outfit.

For a more casual vibe, swap in a simple white tee and trainers, or elevate the look with knee-high boots for a night out.
