MARKS and Spencer fans have hit out at the retailer after they raised the price of a popular sweet by 10p.
The tasty treat now costs £2, which is an increase from £1.90 for a 170g bag last year.
Percy Pigs, which have been a bestseller for the retailer since 1992, have undergone a 33% price hike since 2017 when a packet cost just £1.50.
Fuming customers have been left outraged by the increase.
Rosie Campbell, 18, said: “No way is it £2 for a packet of sweets. They are not worth that. They have to make their profit but they’re taking the mick.
“Parents will have to say no to their children because of the prices.”
Kieran Dinsdale, 24, who works in a bar in Newcastle, said: “They are lovely but they aren’t worth that.
“I would have to share a packet instead of buying one myself.
“They should have never ever put the prices up. I grew up on them. They should be 25p. It’s just inflation, isn’t it?”

“I’m very disappointed that the price has gone up. I don’t know why it’s £2. It doesn’t warrant that price. They are very nice and very tasty.
“It’s expected though as prices have gone up everywhere.”

“I’m in a good position but I imagine a lot of families are struggling.”
