A POSH diner is serving Britain’s most expensive burger for £300 — and it doesn’t even come with proper chips.

The wallet-busting whopper is made from prime cuts of beef, lamb and other meats minced into a 350g slab.

And Otto’s Restaurant in central London says it is a bargain.

Founder Otto Tepasse’s creation also includes seared foie gras, lobster claw prepared by a chef at the table and caviar.

It comes in a bun with French-style potatoes called pommes soufflées — and must be pre-ordered.

For the price, diners could order 43 McDonald’s Big Mac meals at £6.89 each.

But Otto claimed it should be £450, saying: “It’s made from the most expensive ingredients you can have.

“It is impossible to make it better.”

The veteran sommelier, who founded Otto’s in 2011, came up with the idea after American customers asked him why he didn’t serve a burger.

He went on: “I asked them why American presidents eat burgers, and they told me it was the great leveller – that every American loves burgers, no matter who they are.

“It made me think about it, and I said to myself, ‘I’m going to do a burger not for everybody’.

“I started testing ideas on different customers, with different ingredients and

“My head chef was very against it, but when I have an idea that I think will work, I won’t let go of it.”

The world’s dearest is £5,000 and is served on a gold leaf bun at a restaurant in the Netherlands.
