Brit Awards 2025 updates: Charli XCX bags FIVE gongs as Jack Whitehall sparks outrage with jokes at chaotic ceremony

CHARLI XCX was the big winner at this year’s Brit Awards after scooping five gongs.

The Brit singer walked away with awards for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, Dance Act, Songwriter Of The Year and Song Of The Year (joint with Billie Ellish).

Jade Thirlwall also won her first ever Brit Award as a solo artist, picking up Best Pop Act.

But awards aside, there was controversy surrounding the show at London’s O2 Arena.

BRITs host Jack Whitehall took the helm after a four-year hiatus but he shocked music fans with some ‘disgusting’ jokes.

Jack poked fun at KSI, Stephen Hawking and even made a so-called quip about rapper P Diddy – and fans were unimpressed.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter had flown to the UK to open the show with a very British-inspired performance.

And towards the end, BRITs bosses paid a special and emotional tribute to One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died aged 31 last year.
