WHEN Olivia Roberts struck up a relationship with a man who shared her love for the gym, she thought she’d hit the jackpot.
The 25-year-old had moved to a new area for her nursing career and found herself gravitating towards the bloke, with the pair regularly having gym-based dates.
Everything was perfect. He was interesting, attentive and funny, even making jokes about having a wife and kids at home.
Except, he wasn’t joking.
Olivia’s new beau really did have a wife and kid, with another baby on the way, and she now claims that he was leading a double life.
His tactic for not being caught? Hiding in plain sight.
“There were definitely signs along the way that I just didn’t realise,” she admits.
“They seemed like innocent little comments until now I know what I know.”
The pair had met in Victoria, Australia in January 2024 and immediately bonded over their love of weightlifting.
Around this time, Olivia’s profile as a fitness influencer on TikTok was growing – and although her boyfriend was supportive of her videos, he never wanted to be in them.
“I didn’t think anything of it,” she reflects.
“He knew I filmed my workouts. I’d ask if he was okay with being in the background, and he’d always say, ‘Just make sure you don’t get me in it.’
“I didn’t think twice; some people value privacy.”
The pair spoke every day, both over text and on the phone, for the entirety of their relationship.
Olivia now claims he dropped the bombshell revelation over text during one of these “casual conversations”.
“He mentioned very casually in conversation that he was going to this place, and his wife and kid were going which was annoying because he wanted to go by himself,” she recalls.
“He had joked in the past about having a wife… He’s f****d around with me before and made jokes about it.”
As she usually did at these gags, Olivia laughed.
But for the first time, her boyfriend responded by asking: “What’s funny?”
An awkward back-and-forth ensued between the pair before he eventually offered to “prove” that he wasn’t joking.

“I was so anxious and so nervous when I found out.”
The gym bunny tried to do some digging on her beau, but she soon realised that he had given her a fake name.
She couldn’t find any details about his life or his family online, leaving her totally in the lurch as her relationship unravelled in front of her.
As she looks back on the months they’d spent together, she believes there were a few obvious signs she had missed.
Among these are the jokes, as well as his reluctance to feature in her gym videos.
