A TEENAGER has died after his car overturned at a petrol station in front of horrified members of the public.
The boy, 17, was killed after his grey Audi A3 overturned at Applegreen petrol station in Uckfield, East Sussex, at around 5pm on Friday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist members of the public that were trying to save the teenager.
Despite their best efforts, including performing CPR, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The front seat passenger of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Lewes, was uninjured.
Detective Sergeant Rosie Newman, of the Sussex Police Serious Collision Investigations Unit, said: “Our enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this tragic incident are ongoing.
“No other vehicles were involved.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”
Police are also appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward and email [email protected] quoting Operation Chineham.
