A BBC STAR has revealed they’ve quit the broadcaster after a whopping 38 years on screen.
The star has been flooded with support as he revealed his career at the Beeb is ending after nearly four decades at the broadcaster.
Paul Clifton took to social media to share the news, confirming his last day is today.
He said: “Big moment for me: after 38 years, my final day at the BBC.
“I’ve spent more than half my life as transport correspondent, and it has rarely felt like working.
“Travelled the world, won the prizes, worked with the best in the business, met amazing people.
“But now I’m off.”
In recent times Paul has been Transport Correspondent for the news channel in the south of the country.
He joined the broadcaster in the late eighties.
Flooding him with well wishes, one follower told him: “The end of an era! Thank you, Paul. Enjoy your final day in the job.”
A second wrote: “That is the end of an era Paul! Thank you for covering transport in such a professional and objective way. You are a class act.”
