‘I’m dressed inappropriately’ Android users yell over bizarre bug that shows the WRONG weather forecast

ANDROID users have been caught out by an annoying bug showing the wrong weather forecast on their phones.

A number of confused people complained about the bizarre issue on social media, saying they weren’t dressed properly for the day ahead as a result.

Some Google Pixel handsets have been showing outdated forecasts on the “At a glance” feature.

“At a glance” displays instant information such as weather updates and events on the home or lock screen without needing to open any apps.

Users noticed that when you tap to open the weather app the forecasts don’t match up.

One affected user with several Pixel phones wrote on Reddit that “the current temperature is fairly accurate, but the expected high/low forecast hasn’t been correct in the past week”.

Another with a Pixel 8a took to Google’s own forums, saying it shows “the weather for the correct location, but in the morning it shows yesterday’s forecast as the temperature ‘today’ and in the evening it shows today’s forecast as the weather ‘tomorrow.’”

A third commented: “Forecast is now 24 hours behind. It’s showing yesterday’s forecast on my lock screen, but says it’s today’s forecast.

“I’m dressed inappropriately!”

Fortunately a fix is already being rolled out to address it, according to Android Police.

In the meantime, users should check forecasts within the weather app instead of those shown on their home or lock screen.

A rep told the publication: “We’re currently rolling out a fix for an issue causing outdated weather forecasts on the At a Glance widget for some Pixel users.”

Weather app mishaps

Google’s not the first to fall foul of weather app mishaps.

Last year, a tech blunder hit the BBC Weather app, incorrectly warning Brits of a hurricane with “14,408mph winds and temperatures of 404C”.

At the time, BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood had to reassure viewers on air that the forecast was a technical hiccup.
