Now it has been revealed that the hit Apple TV+ show Severance, has been given the green light for a third instalment.

Apple CEO Tim Cook himself revealed the news on social media with a post on X – formerly known as Twitter.

He took to the social media platform with a short teaser clip as he replied to a request from Hollywood actor, Ben Stiller.

The businessman wrote: “Season 3 of Severance is available upon request. – Tim C.”

In the video, the number three remains a prominent feature as three office workers are shown to work by their desks.

Three delicious desserts are shown on a plate and the number itself is emblazoned digitally on screen.

There is also a frame with three of the main characters played by Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, and Adam Scott.

The caption in the video reads; “Severance renewed for season 3,” alongside the logo of the global streamer.

This comes after the show surpassed Jason Sudeikis‘ hit series Ted Lasso as the platform’s most watched series ever.

It also appeared in the Nielsen streaming report for five consecutive weeks in the US, as over 681million minutes were viewed.

The streamer has not revealed any more plans about when fans may expect the third outing just yet.

But Stiller has promised that it will not take another three years, which was the time between the first and second season.

The show focuses on Mark Scout (Scott), who leads a team at Lumon Industries.

The employees of the company underwent a severance procedure that surgically divided their memories between their personal and work lives.

On the second series, lingering questions brought viewers closer to understanding what Lumon’s employees are sorting within the Macrodata Refinement team.

As of time of writing, Severance has an audience score of 96% on film review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

It also has an average audience score of 78% on the platform’s Popcornmeter.
