A TOP comedian and podcaster has signed up for the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors, The Sun can reveal.

Later this year The Traitors will return with the first UK celebrity spin-off.

Comedians and podcast hosts Joe Wilkinson and David Earl are thrilled that one of their regular podcast guests has been snapped up for the new series of BBC one show The Traitors UK.

Paul Gorton, currently appearing in The Traitors series 2, originally replied to a shout out from Chatabix podcast asking for anyone who’d been a contestant on a game show to get in touch. After his first appearance on the podcast in Aug 2022, Paul instantly became a hit, joining Joe & David as a regular guest recounting behind the scenes stories and amusing anecdotes from his time as a contestant on Deal Or No Deal.

And Joe Wilkinson is one of the famous faces who will be taking part in the show.

Joe – who fans will know from comedy shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Have I Got News For You – will be able to get advice from pal Paul Gorton.

Paul was an original Traitor on series two of the hit BBC programme, hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

A telly insider said: “Joe will be brilliant on Celebrity Traitors, he’s hilarious, quick-witted and very clever, so hopefully he can stay one step ahead of his fellow contestants – where he is a faithful or a traitor.”

A spokesperson for The Traitors said “The Traitors is a game that includes lies and deception, thus it would be foolhardy for any Faithful to speculate before the game has begun.”

Paul regularly appears on Joe’s Chatabix podcast, which he hosts alongside David Earl.

Earlier this week The Sun revealed Ted Lasso villain Nick Mohammed has also signed up for the series.

A source said: “Nick is so excited about being cast in The Traitors and cannot wait to get to Ardross Castle.

“On Ted Lasso, his character Nathan was a really surprising villain, absolutely no one saw it coming.

“Nick is going to bring an element of that to The Traitors.

“He has his game plan and he is going to really play the game.”

Joe and Nick are joining stars including Stephen Fry, Kate Garraway and Alan Carr on Celebrity Traitors, which is the BBC’s first famous spin-off of the show.

The Sun previously revealed Olympic diver Tom Daley, singer Paloma Faith and former rugby player Joe Marler were also taking part.
