Show creator Steven Knight, 65, is now an in-demand screenwriter working on a variety of huge projects.

He recently worked with acclaimed director Pablo Larraín and Hollywood legend Angelina Jolie on her biopic movie, Maria.

The star has returned to the world of Peaky Blinders as a new movie is on the way for Netflix, complete with Cillian Murphy reprising the role of Tommy Shelby.

However, Steven has hinted that another season of the hit crime period drama could be on the way.

He admitted that, “discussions are taking place between the BBC, Netflix and producer Banijay UK”.

Meanwhile, work on the popular franchise film is in full swing after Cillian Murphy was spotted filming new scenes in character.

Star of Mission Impossible and The Greatest Showman, Rebecca Ferguson was previously announced to join the franchise.

This came after Saltburn star Barry Keoghan was spotted on set for the first time.

Steven gave a sneak peek of what fans could expect as he confirmed that the film will fast forward to the Second World War.

He told Radio Times: “I know what’s going to happen in those stories and it’s about a sort of untold story that happened in the Second World War, which Peakys are going to be involved in.”

The acclaimed writer also admitted that he’s very keen to expand the Peaky Blinders universe.

Earlier this year, he hinted to BBC Breakfast that fans would be able to expect more from the franchise after the movie, Immortal Man, makes its way to Netflix.
